SUNY Orange is currently seeking an Assistant Director of Financial Aid to join their team in the Financial Aid office.
The Assistant Director is a core member of the Financial Aid team who participates in all office activities and develops a comprehensive understanding of Federal and State financial aid programs and guiding regulations to best assist students and families. The Assistant Director of Financial Aid will have a primary responsibility in managing various loan programs. The Assistant Director will also assume responsibility for the coordination of all aspects of the Federal Direct Subsidized and Unsubsidized loan programs and the Default Management Program including loan origination, eligibility, disbursement, and account reconciliation in delivery, recalculations and return of Title IV funds. The Assistant Director provides individual loan counseling to students and maintains working relationships with government agencies, banks, and internal stakeholders. The Assistant Director is responsible for preparing and submitting external reports, and for maintaining on-going communication with loan recipients to ensure that all loan requirements are met.
In addition, the Assistant Director is the liaison for EOP, TRiO and Veterans Services, providing support to staff and students as related to navigating the financial aid process. This role exercises professional judgement in the determination of independent status and individual special conditions that may impact financial aid awards.
Education Required: Associate's degree or higher.
Experience Required: A minimum of three years of progressively responsible experience in a Financial Aid office at an educational institution. Strong computer skills with proficiency in computer applications. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Salary: $53,873-$83,464 per annum, commensurate with experience. This is a full-time, 12 month, Staff & Chair, Grade 50 position.
