SUNY Schenectady County Community College is seeking a full-time Director of Workforce Development Mobile Labs to join their team. Reporting to the Vice President of Workforce Development & Community Education, the Director of Workforce Development: Mobile Training Labs is responsible for the overall management of the Mobile Training Lab project. This is a professional (unrepresented), full-time, 12-month position. The Director is part of the Workforce Development & Community Education (WFD&CE) team promoting and delivering training via the SUNY Schenectady Mobile Training Labs. The Director adheres to campus-wide, SUNY and professionally recognized standards, policies, procedures, and practices. Given the nature of this unique project, the Director will be required to have a clean driving record and a Class A CDL license.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Plan, schedule, operate and supervise the Mobile unit program in collaboration with the other members of the college including but not limited to Division of Workforce Development and Community Education
Manage partnership development, marketing, networking, and community relation efforts to promote the use of the Mobile Training Labs across the region
Positively represent the college and maintain the continuation of collaborative working relationships with funding agencies, expand partnerships with employers;
Assist in the development and implementation of education and training programs designed to serve the needs of business and industry
Shares technical expertise in the development and implementation of new courses and programming
Assist on programmatic design that facilitates sustainability of the program and solicit additional revenue streams and funding opportunities to enhance project goals and outcomes
Connect students with college resources should they wish to pursue further education into micro-credential, certificate, and/or degree programs upon completion of credit free
Assist in the development of programming between the College and other education and community agencies serving targeted populations within the College's service area
Assist in the development, maintenance and implementation of a marketing campaign to promote the initiatives and recruit students by participating in job fair, career days etc.
Represent the College and conducts outreach within the community and the region by attending meetings and networking activities
Manage training calendar when Mobile Labs are available for training and ensure that proper routing to different destinations is cognizant of Mobile Lab height and width restrictions
Oversee and manages proper maintenance of Mobile Labs and trucks (i.e.: inspections, insurance, gas, oil changes, repairs, cleaning, etc.) to ensure mechanical and safety baselines are maintained and in good working order
Follow appropriate safety procedures for transporting goods and equipment
Maintain logs of mileage and working hours of vehicle service and repair status, following applicable state and federal regulations
Secure cargo for transport, using ropes, blocks, chains, binders, or covers
Set up and breakdown equipment in trucks and mobile units
Inspect locations for accessibility, space and power availability, security and stability of trucks and mobile units
Oversee cleaning and sanitizing of Mobile Labs after each training session using the equipment (sanitizing UV lights) provided by the college
Additional programmatic/financial/administrative duties as assigned

Job Requirements:
Minimum Qualifications:
Associate's Degree in a technical field or specialized certification in industrial areas (green energy, mechatronics, industrial electrical wiring, CAD design, mechanical drawing, machine operator, Commercial driver/mechanic) and a minimum of three years' experience driving commercial rigs or equivalent or a combination of education and experience
Class A Commercial Drivers' License
Demonstrated experience in a training, manufacturing or social service field
Knowledge of principles and methods of moving goods by road, including relative costs and benefits
Knowledge of relevant equipment, policies, procedures, statutes and strategies for operating commercial vehicles in the State Of New York
Knowledge of relevant equipment, machines, tools including design, uses and maintenance
Demonstrate ability to resolve problems, adjust to changing circumstances, managing one's own time and time of others with limited supervision
Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail to handle complex projects
Ability to build, sustain and nurture collaborative relationships while providing great customer service
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Knowledge of Office software
Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree
Demonstrated experience in working in a community college or technical education school

Salary: $60,000
