Job Description:

SUNY seeks a dedicated, creative professional, equally interested in big picture and key detail, and one who thrives in a team-based environment. The successful candidate will have relevant experience and a continuing commitment to further their knowledge base. Responsibilities will include assisting in developing aspects of the Institute, focusing on practice of Title IX investigations and adjudications and/or academic and non-academic conduct investigations and adjudications, developing, creating, and delivering innovative live and digital training with a focus on the practitioner experience, assisting in expanding and developing new obligations and opportunities of the SCI and assist in related projects and programs that advance the general mission of the SCI.

The Assistant Director of Student Conduct Practice is responsible for oversight of the training of over 550 member campuses within the SCI. This position will design and deliver training to the membership with a focus on engagement and learner outcomes. They will also coordinate content experts from outside of the SCI to bring diverse perspectives to the training content, allowing members to hear from a variety of opinions and experiences. The assistant director will seek opportunities to gather data to assist in decision-making for future training and development opportunities. The incumbent will be highly skilled in presentation development, engaging large groups at a distance, and cultivating relationships with external subject matter experts and stakeholders. As a member of the SCI leadership team, the assistant director will assist the director in strategic planning.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the SCI leadership team and the SCI Steering Committee and to expand upon the content and program developed to date and develop a timeline to monitor success of programs on an ongoing basis
  • Create and deliver online trainings and webinars on a wide variety of subjects to increase the knowledge of our learners in the areas of Title IX, VAWA, Clery, 129B and other student conduct areas
  • Coordinate the process of collaboratively developing content that meets legal requirements (Clery Act/VAWA, Title IX Guidance, and state law)
  • Coordinate the development of online modules for distribution of refresher and advanced content to SCI members
  • Create and cultivate relationships with external content experts and coordinate delivery of Live@Distance training
  • Coordinate content delivery from external subject matter experts (SMEs) to deliver content for online training
  • Collaborate with instructional design team to revise existing content regularly and schedule new content development
  • Assist in the development of policy and procedure and advise on investigations and adjudications of standard and complex violations of law and policy
  • Use data to make informed decisions on future offerings and goals
  • In partnership with instructional design team, establish program and training outcomes and provide assessment data on learner progress
  • Participate in and collaboratively write proposals as necessary to seek new or additional program funding or initiate or enhance aligned University projects
  • Assist in development of education and marketing material for the SCI to reach additional and diverse audiences who could benefit from participation and grow the Institute


Requirements:

Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in a relevant field completed or an equivalent or terminal degree
  • A minimum of three years coordinating all aspects of student conduct adjudication at all levels on a college or university campus
  • Experience in project management and leading a team
  • Demonstrated ability to work with a culturally diverse population
  • Demonstrated ability to function positively in a fast-paced, team-based environment
  • Demonstrated excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated excellent, engaging presentation experience and skill
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 5 years' experience as an Assist/Assoc./Dean of Students, Director of Student Conduct or Title IX Coordinator
  • Experience in delivering virtual education to large groups
  • NYS procurement and contracting process experience
  • Experience applying state law and Regulatory Guidance within campus policies
  • Experience working within a large, complex organization
  • Experience developing courses or programs, training, or resources
  • Experience with or comfort with online or digital training platforms


Additional Information:

This position is located in Albany, NY and there is an in-person expectation for the incumbent.

Salary is dependent on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, experience, education, training, and certifications. The range for this position is $75,000-$95,000.
