Business Analyst - Streaming
- Contract: 12 months
- Pay Rate: $70 - $80 per hour DOE
- Location: Onsite 3 - 4 days/week in Burbank
Job Description:
We are looking for a talented Business Analyst to join our dynamic team. As a Business Analyst focused on building Media Platforms, you will act as a liaison between business stakeholders and the technology team, translating business needs into functional requirements and ensuring that our products meet high standards of quality and user expectations.
Responsibilities:
- Develop an understanding of the key requirements and technical work to deliver new platform features
- Organize upcoming work into discrete epics that deliver value in a reasonable time frame
- Craft well-constructed technical user stories based on business goals, developer feedback, and personal expertise
- Collaborate with other product team members to coordinate cross-product work
- Prioritize and manage feature backlogs to define the specific work in the next three sprints and a quarterly development roadmap
- Work with developers to refine technical user stories for upcoming sprints
- Coordinate with the tech lead and scrum master to define sprint goals and track Jira user story progress against a program roadmap
- Participate in the QA of new features and provide product acceptance of new features to ensure that new features meet quality standards and user expectations.
- Develop and nurture relationships with external platform partners and stakeholders
- Serve as a subject matter expert on functional aspects of the platform, providing guidance, support and timely product updates to cross-functional teams as needed
- Gather and analyze data points to determine how products are performing and where they can be improved
- Keep on top of industry trends, technologies, and techniques
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in a related field, or equivalent experience
- 3 years of industry experience
- Prior experience in an agile development environment, with a solid understanding of SCRUM principles and methodologies
- Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities
- Proficient in translating complex concepts and requests between technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Familiarity with digital video players and streaming technologies (e.g. HLS, DRM, forensic watermarking, etc?)
- Comfortable working independently or collaboratively within cross-functional teams
- Capable of analyzing existing datasets to uncover actionable insights
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience as the analyst or associate technical product manager for a technical product team
- Previous experience developing or supporting a video streaming platform
- A working understanding of the video distribution content supply chain
- Comfortable with common AWS products and architecture
- Ability to comprehend and interpret technical standards and specifications
Must haves:
- 3 years of experience is a must have
- Jira is required
- Experience working in Agile development environment
- Strong communication skills
- Streaming familiarity within technology environment
