Job Posting for Housekeeping- Hawaii Convention Center at Superior Staffing & Services
Summary of Position:
Maintain cleanliness of the Hawaii Convenion Center in accordance with the standards of the Housekeeping department and in compliance with the rules and regulations of the Department of Health of the State of Hawaii.
**Must be able to work varied shifts, weekdays, weekends, holidays and additional hours as venue schedule requires.**
Duties and Responsibilities:
Sweep, mop, and maintain floor surfaces
Empty and maintain trash receptacles
Vacuum and maintain carpeted surfaces
General dusting and wiping of surfaces
Clean, Sanitize, and stock restroom facilities
Move trash dumpsters and operate trash compactor
Process recycled materials including sorting, hauling, and bailing
Stock and maintain cleanliness of storage rooms and janitor closets
Use of wet and dry vacuum
Mantain equipment in proper operating condition and proper operation cleanliness
Clean areas up to six (6) feet above floor level
Maintain clean and orderly condition of all areas of the HCC
Work to establish cleaning and sanitation standards utilizing common sense and with minimal supervision
Report any discrepancies found throughout the facility
Use Hand-held 2-way radio for communication
Perform other duties as directed by HCC Supervisor
Qualications:
A minimum if six (6) months prior janitorial experience, preferred
Successfully completed training on Bio-Hazard Communication and general practices as it applies to the job
Must be at least 18 years of age
Must demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively and properly with stay and HCC guests
High school diploma or GED
Must have the ability to understand and follow the verbal and written instructions
