Are you looking for vertical take-off in your next career?! We are pursuing an expert manufacturing engineer as a part of the overall assembly and product integration team. Reporting directly to the ME/Planning and Tooling Manager, the Manufacturing Engineer develops manufacturing prototype build plans, flight tests, and production vehicles. Working as a founding team member, you will help craft standard processes and procedures while collaborating with the design teams throughout the conceptual, preliminary, and detailed design phases. This vital role ensures the production aircraft accurately uses novel materials and processes, as well as Industry 4.0 technologies, to meet aircraft rate requirements. Our ideal candidate has expertise in clean sheet designs of assembly tooling in development programs.
What you can do:
- Develop manufacturing build plans for prototype vehicles and transition them into a production environment while heavily involved in the design, then fabrication of all vehicle types, working with airframe design, tooling, and process development teams
- Support the fabrication efforts for prototype and flight test vehicles
- Work with all engineering teams ensuring design for manufacturing principles accurately applied
- Development of manufacturing standard practices and procedures
- Provide strong technical support to the airframe design teams
What you can contribute:
- Bachelors in Manufacturing or relevant field
- Extensive background in aircraft or automotive production environments
- Demonstrated experience with project management
- Proven hands-on prototyping
- Highly collaborative and a phenomenal communicator
You may also be able to contribute:
- Masters in relevant field
- Demonstrative experience with development programs
- Aviation, automotive, and the mobility space experience with AAM
- LEAN/Six Sigma experience and qualifications
