Who we’re looking for?

A sustainability director to act as Superunion UK’s expert on all aspects of sustainability, how it affects our clients, and the opportunities it presents.You will have a passion for brands, and how great brands influence, engage and inspire their audiences. You will be motivated by the belief that creativity can make positive changes to the way people behave and understand how brands can and should embrace sustainability to help achieve this.

Main responsibilities
  • Be responsible for the ongoing development and promotion of our brand sustainability positioning and offer, and collaborate with others across our network to build our comprehensive service across sustainability, ESG and Corporate
  • Help educate clients and prospects on sustainability, how they can address it and how they can use it to strengthen their brand strategy and experience
  • Act as a leader in fostering a greater culture of sustainability within Superunion, contributing to internal initiatives and programmes
  • Be a leading participant in our strategy of developing our global competency in sustainability, ESG and corporate and building a community of sustainability experts and advocates
  • Represent the agency on sustainability matters within our industry (including media and events)
  • Continue to seek opportunities to develop, productise and make proprietary our approach to sustainability and the methodologies we use
  • Be able to inspire others with creative, convention-breaking ways to activate strategy and thinking around sustainability strategy
  • Contribute to our ongoing marketing and PR efforts through the regular publication of thought pieces, blogs and articles on sustainability
  • Work with colleagues to make an effective contribution to business development opportunities where our sustainability positioning, POV and offer are seen to add value
  • Where relevant, be able to lead project teams and clients; bring the best from cross-agency teams; set expectations around standards; codify and share learnings
  • Help proactively seek out new sustainability-focused opportunities with current and potential clients, partnering with client, new business and marketing/PR teams
Your experience
  • 5 years’ experience in a similar role at an agency or client-side
  • Strong working knowledge of key trends and expectations that are influencing how companies respond to sustainability
  • Broad-based experience of how different sectors and companies are responding to the sustainability agenda and the strengths, weaknesses and opportunities in their approach
  • Experience of planning and implementing programmes focused on sustainability communication, stakeholder engagement and reputation building - this can be client side, agency side or both
  • Experience of working in multi-disciplinary teams, including design/creative, in the delivery of sustainability communications
Your skills
  • A strong interest in brand strategy and how brands can use sustainability to more effectively connect with and inspire their different audiences and stakeholders
  • Confident and articulate in presenting our offer and capabilities to both current and prospective clients, including both leading and participating in competitive pitches
  • A proficient communicator and team player, with strong organisational skills
