Job Description
Summary/objective
The Warehouse Supervisor has responsibility for the following areas: Freezer, Dry Warehouse, Mill Room, Spice Storage Room, Shipping Cooler, and the entire Supplies Warehouse area. These responsibilities include but are not limited to organization, housekeeping, and proper maintenance. The position is responsible for supervision and control of people working in those areas and control of ongoing operations in those areas. Additional responsibilities include inventory maintenance, level setting, scheduling, and purchasing of products and supplies from outside sources. Position performs essential communications with other departments including Sales and Production.

Essential functions
Includes the following. Other duties may be assigned as required.
- Directly responsible for the supervision and training of all personnel reporting to the position.
- Responsible for holding safety meetings, ensure safe practices, procedures, and work areas. Hold GMP and other scheduled meetings as required.
- Responsible for department productivity relative to meeting standards for quality and productivity.
- Directly responsible for all aspects of inventory accuracy, maintenance, and control, including cycle counts, annual fiscal inventory, and adjustments.
- Generates current and or updated documents for TQM.
- Responsible for developing and publishing position reports showing status of Freeze Dry Work in process status relative to order requirements.
- Train crew leaders and others in essential duties required during supervisors’ absence such as product/lot selection for material transfer to Mercer Processing to assure continuous operation at all times.
- Develop goals for department improvement including but not limited to; Cost Reduction, enhanced throughput, layout changes and new or improved equipment recommendations.
- Maintain communication with outside cold storage locations scheduling harvest transfers and inbound receipt of product as required.
- Perform stock rotation audits.
- Provide samples of freeze-dried products received from outside suppliers for QA and the daily 10:30 production meeting.
- Prepare performance evaluations for employees as required.
- Perform at least two physical department walk throughs' daily verifying training and accuracy of operations including paperwork.
- Bar Code implementation, maintenance & training.
- Assist with plant wide forklift training program and certification of selected operators.
- Safely operates forklift equipment to move materials & assets
- Other duties as assigned by management.

Required education and experience
- Bachelors degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university; or 4 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
