Mission of the Role
The Packaging Designer provides a consistent, high-quality customer service experience and models exceptional service in all they do to create lasting partnerships by putting customers first. The design team plays an essential role in the communication between the customer service and operations team by providing clear and concise instructive documents.
The Packaging Designer is a highly valued team member that works with the sales team, internal departments and customers and acts as an advocate of SupplyOne values, services and capabilities to provide complete solutions and the full breadth of core product categories to meet and exceed sales growth targets.
Key Duties & Accountabilities
- Use CAD equipment and software to develop packaging designs.
- Create and revise production drawings (detail and assembly drawings)
- Utilize knowledge of various machines, mathematics, materials and other physical sciences to complete drawings
- Draft detailed multi-view drawings of products, using CAD and Adobe suite
- Set up, maintain and organize file system for designs
- Communicate with Sales, Customer Service, Purchasing and Manufacturing regarding new and revised prints
- Maintains database regarding design changes
- Process short order production runs
- Meet with both internal and external clients to discuss viability and paths forward on projects
Essential Functions
- The ability to adhere to and abide by detailed procedures
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment
- Facilitate new item set up including tapoffs, proof approval etc.
- Excel in a fast paced ever changing work environment
- Maintain thorough customer records
Educational/Training Requirements/Experience
- High School diploma/GED
- Experience in a customer service role preferred
- Experience in a design related role is preferred
Minimum Skills, Knowledge & Ability Requirements
- Understanding of design principals and drafting techniques
- Knowledge of ISO 9001
- Strong organizational skills; ability to prioritize tasks
- Demonstrated initiative in personal professional development
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook and Adobe suite
- Ability to communicate effectively in writing, verbally over the phone, and in person, at our own site and at customer or 3rd party sites
- Maintain regular and punctual attendance
