Supreme Court Gift Shop Sales Associate

The Supreme Court Historical Society is seeking a Sales Associate to work in our Washington D.C. Gift Shop, located inside of the Supreme Court of the United States. The Sales Associate will play a vital role in delivering exceptional service to our diverse clientele, assisting with sales transactions, and contributing to the overall success of our retail operations. This position offers an exciting opportunity for individuals who are passionate about history and providing a memorable shopping experience. This is a unique opportunity to work only daytime and weekday hours in a historic and beautiful setting.

Areas of responsibility include but are not limited to:

· Welcome and assist visitors to the Supreme Court Gift Shop, providing friendly and knowledgeable service.

· Educate customers about the unique products available in the shop.

· Recommend merchandise based on customer preferences and interests, promoting sales, and enhancing customer satisfaction.

· Process sales transactions accurately and efficiently using a Shopify POS system, handling cash, credit, and other forms of payment.

· Manage packaging and shipping online orders, ensuring orders are processed accurately and delivered in a timely manner.

· Maintain accurate records of online orders, tracking shipments and resolving any issues that may arise.

· Maintain a visually appealing and organized retail space, including restocking shelves and arranging displays.

· Monitor inventory levels and assist with inventory management tasks, such as receiving shipments and conducting stock counts.

· Answer inquiries about product availability, pricing, and shop policies, always demonstrating professionalism and courtesy.

· Collaborate with team members to achieve sales targets and contribute to a positive work environment.

· Adhere to company policies and procedures, including those related to customer service, safety, and security.

· Uphold the reputation of the Supreme Court Gift Shop by delivering exceptional service and fostering a welcoming atmosphere for all visitors.

Qualifications:

· Previous experience in retail or related field required.

· High school diploma or equivalent; college coursework advantageous.

· Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail.

· Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse audiences.

· Friendly and approachable demeanor, with a genuine interest in helping customers and promoting sales.

· Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

• Proficient in using point-of-sale systems and other relevant software applications. Experience with Salesforce and Shopify is a plus.

• Passion for history or interest in the judicial system preferred.
