Job Description The Project Accountant will be responsible for the day-to-day accounting and monitoring of individual project financials as well as other duties in a growing office. The Project Accountant will work closely with all members of the office and production teams, including project managers, engineers, superintendents and field coordinators. Responsibilities will include but may not be limited to the following: Project job accounting Creation of projects in ERP system Contract, SOV and change order maintenance Prepare, revise and submit AIA client invoices and supporting documentation Monitor accounts receivable and support collection of payments Manage Subcontractor documentation and compliance Lien management Compliance Close-out of projects upon completion Review of project expenditures for accuracy and reasonableness. Investigate project variances and provide variance explanations. Creation and analysis of financial reports at a project level. Journal entries and job costs for projects. Assisting with strategic planning/forecasting of project financials, including participation in Monthly Status Review (MSR) meetings. Compile information for internal and external auditors as required. Support operations staff. Required Skills: Construction or manufacturing background Excellent listening skills and strong oral and written communication skills. The ability to identify, analyze and resolve complex issues. Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office applications and in accounting cost management software (Microsoft Dynamics 365 or similar). 7 years of experience as a Project Accountant A strong work ethic and a “can-do anything” attitude.
