Job Description and Responsibilities
Our Swim Instructors are responsible for assisting in creating and implementing the SCYC Swim Program . The purpose of the SCYC Swim Team is to create a fun, competitive atmosphere for all swimmers while they develop their individual swimming skills, strokes, and technique. The Head Coach reports directly to the Waterfront Director.
Job tasks listed below are in general and meant to outline the various tasks to be performed, but duties include others as assigned. There will be tasks from time to time that may come up that are unique to a certain situation and to be addressed at that time per the direction of the Club Manager.
During the Eight Weeks of Programs
- Maintain and enforce all proper safety procedures and practices at all times
- Be present for all practices and swim lessons
- Coordinate & execute the swim program and assist in team practices
- Submit weekly updates for e-mail blast
- Award performance & accomplishment based “prizes” for swimmers
- Maintain daily attendance records of participants
- Help coordinate parent volunteers for swim meets
- Maintain direct communication with parents in regards to swim meets, events, and practices.
Notes:
- All staff are to conduct themselves in a professional and appropriate manner at all times and be polite to all of the members and non-member guests.
- This position is seasonal and offers no additional benefits
- Staff are required to wear appropriate clothing or staff shirt, keep neat in appearance that is suited for position
- Staff are required to be aware of the Club’s Harassment policy.
- Must be able to lift items, move light furniture, work on or near the water, in full sun, or in other weather elements
- Ideal candidate will be self-driven as well as be able to follow direction
Requirements:
- Driver's License
- Swim instruction or coaching experience
- CPR/Lifeguard Certifications
- Pass required background check
- Teaching or pre-school teaching experience a plus
- Private club, camp, or hospitality experience a plus
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
Expected hours: 25 – 40 per week
Schedule:
- 8 hour shift
- Monday to Friday
Education:
- High school or equivalent (Preferred)
Work Location: In person
Salary : $16 - $18
