The SECURITY SUPERVISOR is responsible to supervise Security staff and protect the hotel, its guests, and employees from personal injury, and from loss or damage of property.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES, include but not limited to:
- Must be flexible and available to work day, afternoon, overnight shifts, weekends and holidays to meet the Resort business needs.
- To assist training, scheduling, support and discipline Security Officers in order to maintain highest levels of employee morale and department effectiveness.
- To assist, as directed, to monitor and control departmental expenditures, including prompt reporting of incurred overtime.
- To assist with troubleshooting key concerns, including but not limited to, meeting rooms, guest rooms and master keys.
- To satisfactorily perform and oversee, as directed, routine operations of the hotel, including patrols, inspections, incident handling, documentation, law enforcement, key control, lock-up procedures, alarm maintenance, and Lost and Found.
- To respond to all guest and hotel requests, and emergency situations in a timely and professional manner.
- To continuously patrol and inspect assigned areas as scheduled, and promptly report all irregularities, hazardous conditions, and suspicious occurrences.
- To maintain complete and accurate records of all SDS Sheets.
JOB KNOWLEDGE & EDUCATIONAL LEVEL: High school diploma or equivalent required. AA degree in Criminal Justice or related field preferred. English fluency required. Spanish fluency preferred. Valid California driver’s license required. Satisfactory DMV driving record. Current California BSIS guard card required. CPR/First Aid certification through the American Heart Association preferred. Must have a minimum of one year law enforcement, military, or security experience. Familiar with "Powers to Arrest." Familiar with OSHA, SB198, local Department of Health regulations, and relevant current laws governing handling of hazardous substances. Basic typing and clerical skills required. Previous hotel experience preferred.

Customer service focus. Good team player. Honest and trustworthy. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Decisive. Able to work productively and proactively with little supervision.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Walks/stands approximately 75% of shift. Drives/sits approximately 25% of shift. Uses personal computer approximately 5-20% of shift. Must be able to respond quickly to emergencies in any part of property. Bends, stoops, and reaches to perform routine job tasks. Frequently required to handle and move objects weighing up to 50 lbs. over short distances. Flexibility and good reflexes required to operate electric carts. Frequent use of stairs, daily.
