Job Description
A Human Resources and Administration Professional who will serve as the head of the Human Resources / Safety / Administration departments in leading, planning, and implementing policies / systems towards building and maintaining a diverse high performing workforce that supports the mission and vision of the organization. Will report to Vice President of Plant Operations.
- Responsible to lead and develop a plan for staffing and talent strategy, internal communication processes, performance management, and leadership and professional development.
- Drive strategies to identify, sources, assess, and hire the best talent to meet changing and evolving business needs.
- Will review the policies and procedures related to Human Resources and Safety in accordance with state, local, and federal laws / regulations.
- Train, coach, and support managers to navigate evaluation, training, promotion, code of conduct, and other HR issues.
- Support and foster a safe and engaging work environment for all employees, including but not limited to regular safety engagement meetings, roundtables, focus groups, surveys and employee activities.
- Responsible for HR and Administration department budget (capital and expense); review and negotiate HR-related contracts and agreements.
- Oversee all matters relating to facilities and administration, including building improvements, leases, vehicle fleet management, supply resource management, and record functions.
- Oversee various HR/Safety/Infrastructure improvement projects.
- Monitor, report, analyze various HR & Safety Metrics and develop plans to meet company goals.
- Research, implement, and maintain salary scales to standardized salary ranges across the company and relative to peer organizations.
- Serves on the Benefits Steering Committee collaborating with UPNA and negotiate benefits plan renewals to balance quality coverage with expenses for the company and employees.
- Provide the leadership to eliminate workplace incidents and injuries by working with Safety and other departments. Drive the Safety Committee and Management meetings.
- Develop cost reduction activities for scope of position within HR / Safety/ Admin departments. identifying and implementing improvements where necessary
- Oversee administration of established wage and benefit programs
- Recommend and implement training and development programs as needed, including but not limited to new manager training, policies and HRIS (ADP) capabilities.
- Oversees and conducts investigations of employee issues, violations, and employee grievances, following up to close out investigations effectively and timely.
- Administer/Oversee Alcohol/Drug Policy in conjunction with EHS Manager - oversee random and for cause testing processes, meet with employees requesting assistance with drugs or alcohol.
- Serves as a liaison to community through community involvement (i.e., Chamber of Commerce meetings, ribbon cuttings and community events)
- Oversees/maintains JSOX documentation/requirements and other audits involving HR processes and procedures.
- Responsible to plan and oversee all company gatherings and events.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Must be able to work extended hours and occasionally on weekends when required.
- Able to travel (domestic and international) for business purposes.
