Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and expedite the flow of work and materials within or between departments of an establishment according to production schedule
- Review and distribute production, work, and shipment schedules
- Confer with department supervisors and leads to determine progress of work and completion dates
- Works closely with Supply Planning and Operations leadership to ensure alignment on production forecast and potential operational impacts.
- Confer with department supervisors to determine critical and overdue materials
- Compile reports on progress of work, inventory levels, costs, and production problems.
- Close Shop Orders if necessary
- Investigate inventory discrepancies
- Responsible for monitoring daily delivery schedules against production status to meet on-time delivery of parts
- Tracks, locates, and moves critical and overdue materials to specified production areas
- Proactively review shop orders for completeness and part availability
- Locate and expedite shop orders within the facility
- Follow all documented Good Manufacturing Practices
- Must follow all company policies and procedures
- Create delivery schedules for raw materials and vendors to support production schedule.
- Communicates with vendors to ensure adherence to delivery schedules.
- Reviews raw material order shortages and communicates critically needed components.
- Communicates critical expediting issues and shortages not covered by purchase orders.
- Creates and distributes work order to production floor.
- Evaluates and coordinate the disposition of excess and obsolete inventory.
- Monitors FIFO activities works to implement improved systems for FIFO capability.
- Ensures the accurate and timely completion of paperwork
- Provide support to the Materials team and Operations Manager.
- Performs other duties/tasks as assigned.
Position Requirements:
- High School Diploma, GED
- Associate degree or equivalent from two-year college; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- 3 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment in a scheduling or production control function is preferred
- Strong analytical skills and statistical knowledge.
- Must be able to multitask and prioritize efficiently.
- Demonstrated experience in an ERP system and its functions.
- Strong computer skills with proficiency in MS Office (specifically Work, Excel, Outlook)
- Effective at time management and prioritization to meet strict deadlines
- MRP experience is a plus
