About the Role:
Join our dynamic team as a Systems Engineering Lead, overseeing and guiding Model-Based System Engineer (MBSE) development activities and management for cutting-edge engineering projects. This pivotal role demands both leadership prowess and technical acumen.
Location: This is a hybrid or onsite role, requiring up to 80% on-site presence to align with the collaborative nature of the work.
Responsibilities to Anticipate/Expect:
As the Systems Engineering Lead, your responsibilities will encompass, but not be limited to:
- Provide strategic technical direction to MBSE Systems and Software Engineers, leveraging the Cameo Enterprise Architecture tool for SysML model execution in engineering projects.
- Collaborate with program office personnel to develop comprehensive proposals, program plans, and work breakdown structures, outlining the role of MBSE in defining and executing the program.
- Spearhead the execution of all aspects of System Engineering through MBSE, including requirements development and review, system architecture, risk management, trade studies, testing, interface control, and more.
- Prepare detailed plans capturing MBSE staged elements, taking ownership and responsibility for their execution.
- Support key stakeholders like SEM, SEIT Lead, and Chief Engineer in defining and reviewing the technical product solution residing in the MBSE.
- Contribute to the establishment of a robust Client MBSE capability for cross-program utilization, focusing on structuring and staging the MBSE model for element reuse.
- Define, develop, and manage the MBSE elements of a program into a well-defined SysML configuration, encompassing requirements, behavior, structure, interfaces, and parametric elements.
Key Focus Areas:
- Guide program teams in MBSE model utilization for requirement decomposition, functional and non-functional requirement development, and baseline establishment.
- Facilitate the use of MBSE structures for functional decomposition, ensuring proper linking of SysML artifacts for various diagrams and associated derived requirements.
- Lead the development of MBSE interfaces, Data Architecture Model Libraries (DAML), and Domain Specific Data Models (DSDM) in alignment with program and industry standards.
- Create and maintain MBSE-based metrics for TPMs, trades, risks, and Design Decision Memorandums (DDMs).
- Provide program metrics on the maturation of the MBSE environment, ensuring compliance with contract requirements and GCIA implementation.
- Define and stage MBSE for program CDRLs, contributing to the digitization of the engineering environment.
- Support the Digital Engineering (DE) initiative, integrating tools for a seamless, single Source of Truth environment.
- Develop Style Guides for each area of the MBSE.
Minimum Qualifications / What you must have:
- Bachelor's Degree in an Engineering Discipline. Similar technical degrees considered with relevant experience.
- Minimum of 9 years of related engineering experience.
- Strong Vehicle System engineering experience is required.
- Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite.
Additional Information:
- This position requires eligibility to obtain a US security clearance. (Non-US Citizens may not be eligible to obtain a security clearance)
