Accountabilities / Responsibilities
We are actively hiring a Echo Tech (Cardiac Sonographer) to join our Cath Lab Team! This is a full-time opportunity, Monday-Friday schedule, 7am-330pm, no call.
Echo Tech (Cardiac Sonographer) Responsibilities:
- Echo Tech (Cardiac Sonographer) Conducts electrocardiogram (EKG), phonocardiogram, echocardiogram, stress testing, or other cardiovascular tests to record patients' cardiac activity, using specialized electronic test equipment, recording devices, or laboratory instruments.
- Explain testing procedures to patients to obtain cooperation and reduce anxiety.
- Monitor patients' blood pressure and heart rate using electrocardiogram (EKG) equipment during diagnostic or therapeutic procedures to notify the physician if something appears wrong.
- Monitor patients' comfort and safety during tests, alerting physicians to abnormalities or changes in patient responses.
- Obtain and record patient identification, medical history, or test results.
- Assures that patients are properly screened, and assessments are performed prior to procedures.
- Follows emergency procedures when indicted.
- Assures images are properly processed and sent for interpretation.
- Maintains current and competent through continuing education seminars, membership in professional organizations and review of current literature and memos.
- Assure that the equipment is clean and in good working condition and reports all equipment problems.
- Adheres to and supports the established policies of the hospital.
Qualifications
Echo Tech (Cardiac Sonographer) Requirements:
- Graduate of an accredited non-invasive cardiovascular program.
- Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) or Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) required, minimum 3 years of direct experience preferred.
- Registered Vascular Specialist (RVS), Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT), preference with direct Echo Tech (Cardiac Sonographer) experience.
