Position Overview

The Senior Manager of Visual Merchandising owns the overall visual strategy, design and setup for all Surya showrooms. You will play a pivotal role in creating immersive and engaging experiences that support a compelling brand narrative and highlight our products and services in the best possible light. The ideal candidate will have creative vision coupled with strong project management and leadership skills, as well as a proven track record of concept development, product curation, art direction and design execution for extraordinary spaces. 

 Responsibilities

• Develop a cohesive visual strategy and showroom presentation that is aligned with brand identity and resonates with the target audience
• Lead product and merchandising planning for tradeshows, strategically analyzing sales information to optimize showroom assortment
• Curate and style captivating product installations and displays, transforming spaces into visual narratives that enchant and engage customers
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand product features and unique selling points, ensuring effective visual presentation 
• Partner with Operations team to execute showroom logistics and manage staff during setup
• Coordinate planning and budgeting for tradeshows, including managing quotes and labor projections for multiple projects
• Work closely with the marketing, sales, and product teams to support campaigns and product launches
• Take the lead in trend forecasting, actively tracking and leveraging the latest home, design and fashion trends to drive meticulous curation of our product offerings, positioning our brand as a trailblazer in the industry
• Identify and curate product selections for photography, catalogs and website 

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree (Visual Merchandising, Fashion Merchandising, or Interior Design major is a plus)

• 6 years of proven experience in visual merchandising, styling and storytelling, preferably in a retail or showroom environment
• A background in the home furnishings industry, with a strong emphasis on merchandising and managing showroom setup is preferred

• Keen eye for interior design/furnishings/fashion trends and styles
• Excellent time management and problem-solving skills with ability to quickly adapt to changes
• Proven ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects while meeting deadlines consistently
• Drive for perfection with excellent organization skills and impeccable attention to detail

• Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (Creative Cloud, InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Bridge, Acrobat), SketchUp and AutoCAD
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, with proficiency in Excel
• Must be willing to travel to all trade shows, including weekends as needed
