Sustainable Corrugated is a privately-owned company that manufactures corrugated board for independent sheet plants. The location is 2852 Five Springs Road in Dalton, Georgia, and with sister operations in Western North Carolina.
We are seeking a Human Resources Administrator with experience handling personnel and regulatory matters for a manufacturing facility. This position will report directly to the Vice President and receive guidance from the Corporate Human Resources Manager. General Job Duties:
- Reviewing the hourly timecards and payroll preview/changes reports. Ensuring that all rate, insurance, 401k, etc. changes are entered accurately. Providing support for questions that may arise regarding payroll. Ensuring that any state and/or federal changes that apply are updated in our system.
- Overseeing new hire selection, screening, and orientation. This includes interviews, reference checks, physicals, drug screening, background check, I-9 verification, tax forms, etc. Ensuring that the new employee understands the Employee Reference Manual.
- Ensuring that all employee personnel records are up-to-date, including but not limited to pay rates, promotions, insurance elections, beneficiaries, 401k elections, etc.
- Providing support to all managers regarding employee disciplinary actions and keeping managers informed of an employee with an attendance and/or safety issue that needs to be addressed.
- Filing annual reports that include – EEO-1, CMS-Medicare, US Department of Labor Reports, Non-Discrimination, 401k Testing, OSHA 300 Log, etc.
- Working with Insurance Companies regarding filing Short- and Long-Term claims for employees and ensuring that employees receive benefits. Providing all necessary forms to Insurance Companies for annual enrollment and new hires. Maintaining database files for all insurance policies. Approval of monthly insurance bills.
- Ensuring compliance and recordkeeping are correct & accurate for OSHA safety training.
- Maintaining Workers Compensation/OSHA files and logs. This includes reporting claims, working with the insurance company as well as the attending physicians, and working with the company lawyer, as needed.
- Maintaining a working relationship with the Company Doctors. Responsible for random drug screening of employees.
- Scheduling annual employee regulatory training and items such as annual employee hearing testing, etc.
- Coordinating special events.
- Completing any ad-hoc projects that are required by upper management.
Qualifications/Knowledge
Preferred education and related experience:
- BA or AA degree or equivalent experience on the job
- Demonstrated experience handling regulatory records and interacting with regulatory officials
- Experienced in working with computerized system preferred.
- Leadership: a demonstrated ability to lead people and get results
Pay & Typical Work Schedule:
- Salary: Commensurate with experience
- Work 8-hour day shifts (Monday thru Friday), including call duty on a rotating basis
