Printing Press Operator

We are currently hiring a packaging printer operator to be responsible for running printing presses as efficiently and safely as possible. Packaging printer operators are also responsible for the overall quality of sheets printed.

1st shift- 6am - 2:30pm - Mon-Fri

Duties and Responsibilities

• Select random sheets from each load and check that they have appropriate color, register, type and are void of unnecessary markings.
• Work with quality control to ensure a good product when needed.
• Follow customer’s artwork and measurements.
• When problems are encountered, determine cause and adjust press to correct errors.
• Maintain written records of production and quality.
• Assist with monthly cleaning and maintenance of the press.
• Manage daily cleanliness of the printer and surrounding area.
• Ensure all operators around printers are working safely and help manage any issues with maintenance issues that arise to ensure downtime is minimal.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Requirements

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
• Minimum one to three years of experience in the printing industry.
• Ability to obtain lift truck certification.
• Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
• Vision must be acute at short distances to inspect the quality of printed sheets. Color vision is required to detect variances in color of product.
• Must be able to speak, read and write English.
• Must have basic math skills.
• Mechanical aptitude is preferred. Working knowledge of printing presses is required.
• Basic computer skills. Ability to learn and use software as it applies to the job.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $22.00 - $24.00 per hour
