Ensures a strong foundation in clinical, scholarly, and organizational elements of the bioethics profession while advancing fellows' individual interests and career goals. Participates in ethics consultation and support activities. Assists in identifying ethical issues, applies critical analytical skills to ethical dilemmas identified, and recommends a course of action for ethics issues. Participates in medical and clinical ethics rounds as well as presents clinical cases. Contributes to education conferences and participates in the Ethics Committee ensuring they are appraised of current developments in clinical ethics. Observes the functioning of other ethics committees.Job Description:
EDUCATION:
Equivalent experience will be accepted in lieu of the required degree or diploma.
Master's: Ethics or related field
TYPICAL EXPERIENCE:
2 years recent relevant experience.
SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:
Demonstrated knowledge of principles, concepts and methods of health care ethics consultation and bioethics.
Knowledge of biomedical ethics terms, the bioethics literature, professional standards, methods of case analysis and detailed understanding of medical terminology.
Demonstrated experience with conflict resolution to navigate complex and ethical patient care issues.
Communication skills, sensitivity, tact and good judgment; ability to relate objectively to wide range of personalities; able to maintain discretion/confidentiality at all times.

Pay Range is $31.00 to $38.75 / hourThe salary range for this role may vary above or below the posted range as determined by location. This range has not been adjusted for any specific geographic differential applicable by area where the position may be filled. Compensation takes into account several factors including but not limited to a candidate’s experience, education, skills, licensure and certifications, department equity, training and organizational needs. Base pay is just one piece of the total rewards program offered by Sutter Health. Eligible roles also qualify for a comprehensive benefits package.
