Position Overview:

POSITION SUMMARY

Assist in the overall functioning of the records management functions in Diagnostic Imaging Services at a specific site/sites.

 

Principal Accountabilities

Assures that requests for images are documented, prepared and distributed as requested and according to established policy and procedure.

Ensures that patient images are available for scheduled examinations/ procedures.

May be required to train / precept students and new techs.

Monitors the systems for data quality and integrity and efficient operations.

Performs activities related to inactive images including short and long term archival and retrieval.

Performs daily system maintenance, basic technical support, triage and troubleshooting of the RIS and PACS and assists product customers in resolving simple issues.

Performs duties in conjunction with those performed by the Regional Imaging Systems Team including functions in the Radiology Information System (RIS) and the Picture Archiving Communication Systems (PACS).



Qualifications:

MINIMUM POSITION REQUIREMENTS

 

Education/including Licensure/ Certification/ Registration:

High school graduate or equivalent is required.

 

Knowledge:

Knowledge of basic medical terminology and anatomy is desired. Ability to communicate effectively with co-workers, patients and families both verbally and in writing. Basic computer skills are required.

 

Experience:

Experience and knowledge of electronic systems in healthcare settings is desired. Experience with a RIS and PACS is preferred.

 

Skills:

Requires critical thinking skill, decisive judgment and the ability to work under supervision or with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a rapidly changing and challenging environment and take appropriate actions in emergent situations.
