The Speech Pathologist is directly responsible for the initiation and performance of Speech & Language and Swallowing evaluations and treatments. Responsible for speech therapy initial evaluations, patient care, documentation, aide supervision and miscellaneous non-patient care requirements.

Qualifications:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Master’s degree in speech pathology.
Current and valid California license Speech Pathologist (SP-L) or RPE applicant to practice speech pathology. If an applicant, licensure must be obtained no later than 18 months (1 1/2 years) from date of application.
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Must demonstrate excellent written/verbal interpersonal communication and problem solving skills.
Ability to read, write, hear and verbally communicate in English to the degree required to perform the job.
Must be able to travel in accordance with any requirements of your job (if MHLB and/or own vehicle used on MHLB business, must possess valid California Driver’s License and upon request proof of liability insurance).
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Prior experience in an acute care hospital setting.
Current American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) membership.
California Speech-Language-Hearing Association (CSHA) membership
