What are the responsibilities and job description for the Maintenance Technician position at Swan Products LLC?
Under the direction of the Maintenance Manager, the Maintenance Technician will ensure that safety, quality, and production goals are met. Incumbent is responsible for the general maintenance of production equipment and plant facilities and will apply knowledge of electrical/electronic and mechanical principles in determining equipment malfunctions and restoring equipment into operation. The Maintenance Technician will provide skilled mechanical and electrical/electronic support to all areas of manufacturing.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Ensures that organization standards are met in the areas of Safety, Quality, Reliability, Cost and Customer Service.
Ensure all equipment meets safety requirements and that all jobs are performed in accordance with company safety guidelines.
Maintains a safe and clean working environment, observes and follows all safety polices, wears appropriate and prescribed personal protective equipment (PPE).
Must complete any necessary and/or required safety training.
Ensure all equipment is maintained and are working in a safe and efficient manner.
Maintains a clean, neat and well-organized work area, which includes returning items and or equipment to appropriate location and areas.
Takes ownership in ensuring products produced meet quality standards and are built according to the product specification sheet.
Demonstrates a sense of urgency and tenacity to resolve problems and implement process improvements.
Install, repair, troubleshoot and setup industrial process controls and pneumatic, hydraulic, and electro- mechanical systems.
Has significant understanding of production equipment, functioning and operations.
Ability to read and interpret meters, schematic diagrams, blueprints, rules, and other measuring instruments.
Maintains company-required performance and maintenance records for identified equipment.
Performs preventive maintenance functions as directed. Assists other maintenance personnel with technical troubleshooting.
Assists with the training and development of new technicians and other technical level employees.
Performs other duties as required.
QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or its equivalent required.
Associates Degree or College Degree (prefer electro-mechanical or mechanics); one to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education or experience (preferred).
Experience in any of the following is preferred: Electro-mechanical work, Variable frequency drives, welding, Pneumatic controls, Inventory management, Air Compressors, Preventive Maintenance and Predictive Maintenance,
Strong motivation, organization, time management, documentation, and communication skills.
Must have excellent attention to detail and the ability to multi-task and prioritize.
Demonstration of strong work ethics (punctual, dependable, and trustworthy)
Ability to utilize common sense and skills in completing responsibilities and operating equipment conforming to Company production, personnel, and safety procedures.
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, operation manuals, preventative maintenance and troubleshooting guides.
Must be able to communicate and handle conflict in a professional manner.
Ability to give and welcome feedback and contribute to building a positive team spirit.
Ability to lift, push, or pull a minimum of 50 lbs.
