Position Overview: As a Nurse Practitioner in our Hematology-Oncology practice, you will work closely with our physicians and healthcare team to provide high-quality, evidence-based care to our patients. Your role will involve conducting patient assessments, managing treatment plans, and providing patient education and support. Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including medical histories and physical examinations
- Collaborate with physicians and healthcare team members to develop and implement individualized treatment plans
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests, such as laboratory and imaging studies
- Monitor patient progress, evaluate treatment outcomes, and adjust plans as necessary
- Provide patient education and counseling on disease management, symptom control, and self-care
- Support patients and their families throughout the treatment process, offering emotional and psychological support
- Document patient care activities accurately and maintain up-to-date medical records
- Maintain credentials at local hospital for in-patient rounding as needed.
Qualifications:
- Valid Nurse Practitioner license in the state of Arizona
- For those with no prior experience in Hematology/Medical Oncology, a strong knowledge of Primary Care and Internal Medicine is desirable.
- Excellent clinical skills.
- Proficient in interpreting diagnostic tests and formulating treatment plans
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members
- Ability to work independently, manage time efficiently, and prioritize patient care
- Dedication to providing compassionate care and advocating for the best interests of patients
