Sweeney Excavating Corp. is seeking a Commercial Estimator to join our growing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating accurate takeoffs, compiling bids, and ensuring that projects are completed according to schedule and within budget.

Responsibilities:
- Analyzing data to estimate the resources, time, materials, and capital needed to complete a project
- Meeting with clients and visiting job sites to gather information
- Using computer software to calculate cost estimates
- Presenting cost reports to clients
- Gathering cost information from suppliers and other third-party vendors
- Collaborating with project managers and other team members to ensure accurate estimates
- Staying up-to-date with industry trends and changes in materials, labor costs, and regulations
- Communicating effectively with clients, team members, and other stakeholders
- Continuously improving estimation processes and procedures.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in construction management, or a related field a plus but not required
- Relevant work experience in estimating or a related field is a must.
- Strong analytical and mathematical skills
- Proficient in computer software used for estimating, such as Excel, Bluebeam, B2W or PlanSwift
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to read and understand technical drawings and specifications
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and collaborate with project managers and other team members
- Knowledge of construction materials, methods, and equipment
- Familiarity with industry regulations and codes
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
