Job Title: House Manager

Job Summary/Objective: The Presidential House Manager will maintain Sweet Briar House. The incumbent will demonstrate the highest standards of professionalism, integrity, and discretion and utilize exceptional interpersonal and communication skills to maintain positive working relationships with the President, vendors/contractors, alumnae, faculty, staff and students.
Presidential House Manager will perform housekeeping resposibilities and tasks as assigned.
Position Type/Expected Work Hours: Part-time position/up to 10 hours per week.
Supervisory Responsibilities: None

Essential Responsibilities
- Completes housekeeping tasks
- Manages the house to ensure it is routinely maintained at a standard that is appropriate for hosting presidential events
- Responsible for organization of all spaces and items
- Ensures all porches and walkways are clean and in good repair.
- Ensures cleanliness of Sweet Briar House and Garden Cottage.
- Decorate the house for holidays.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Must be self-directed and able to work efficiently with limited supervision.
- Organized, reliable and able to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
- Ability to interact in an effective and appropriate manner with diverse populations, the college community and the public.
- Proficient at social etiquette and understanding social queues.
- Experience in household management, prefered
- Maintain a professional appearance at all times.
- Background and DMV check must be completed.
Physical Demands
- Ability to move continuously during work hours, lifting and carry loads up and down stairs, and work on ladders.
- Ability to work out of basement office, located partially below ground.
