We are looking for an Accounts Payable - Assistant Manager who understands the accounting side of a dealership. Someone who likes the busy day-to-day tasks in a fast-paced environment and manages their time wisely.
The Accounts Payable - Assistant Manager supports the business and the AP team by providing leadership and managing a variety of specialized services within Accounts Payable. This individual will ensure accurate and timely invoice posting, accounting, and payment processing. The ideal candidate is curious, motivated, a proven leader, results-oriented, and committed to providing outstanding customer service every day.
Responsibilities:
- Leads the team to manage the posting, matching, payment, and scanning of invoices per department guidelines
- Manages special requests and complex exceptions in accordance with company policy
- Leads the team in complex assignments or projects
- Responds to vendor inquiries in a timely and professional manner
- Leads month-end closing activities
- Participates in or manages assigned special projects
- Builds relationships across the business to ensure transparency, training, and adherence to company policies and practices
- Builds and implements training plans for the Accounts Payable team
- Collaborates with peers, leaders and business partners to ensure a successful outcome in all assignments
- Sets a professional example as a leader
- Performs other similar or related duties as requested or assigned.
- Assists with related special projects, as requested or assigned.
- Acquires knowledge of Environmental and Safety Policies by completing required training programs and performing designated work activities in accordance with training and procedures/work instructions
- Notifies designated personnel of any environmental or safety incidents or risks not previously documented, in accordance with Environmental Awareness and/or safety trainings
Minimum Requirements:
- Two-year associate’s degree in Accounting and/or three to five years’ related experience
- Three plus years’ experience in a high-volume, fast-paced accounts payable environment
- Three or more years’ experience as a leader or supervisor
Qualifications / Skills:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel
- Prior experience working with SAP S/4 HANA
- Prior experience working with OCR and workflow technology a plus
- Basic accounting principles knowledge
- Demonstrates the ability to lead change
