SWIMMING SIMPLY: ASSISTANT GENERAL MANAGER

ROLE SUMMARY

The Swimming Simply Assistant General Manager is an important member of our team who demonstrates exceptional customer service and enjoys supporting the operations of a growing company. In addition to providing excellent customer service to new and existing families, the Assistant General Manager will support the day-to-day operational needs of our Swim Otters pool.

HOURS

This is a part-time or full-time, non-exempt (hourly) position, depending on the availability of the candidate.. We require schedule availability that includes some weekday evenings (until 7pm) and at least one weekend (Saturday or Sunday) shift per month and the ability to work the same scheduled days every week (Ex. every Monday from 8:30-4:30) We are open 8am-7pm Monday-Friday, 8-4pm Saturday & 9-3pm on Sunday.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Operations
• Open & close building and pool as needed
• Baseline measuring & maintenance of pool; ensure chemicals are checked and results are written down 3x / day
• Run the point of sale system and receive, price & stock merchandise
• Manage food and other office supply ordering; maintain a running inventory list of needed supplies
• Manage all aspects of iClass including attendance, adds, drops, notifications & tuition
• In consultation with CEO, determine business closures due to weather and communicating messages to customers and staff
• Customer service
• Respond to emails from @welcome email inbox and customer phone calls and voicemails in a timely and professional manner
• Ensure pool time is maximized to enhance customer and employee satisfaction
• Communicate with families by helping them enroll, drop or problem-solve more appropriate classes/options; manage unhappy customers; email parents/caregivers when there is a sub
• Know all families and swimmers
• Management
• Support General Manager with instructional subbing needs, as needed
• Support with billing for all of Swimming Simply enrollments
• Other duties as assigned

REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor’s Degree, preferred
• 1-3 years of swim instruction experience
• Experience using online systems and tools
• Familiarity with online booking database, preferred
• 3 years of demonstrated success in customer service and sales experience
• Certified Pool Operator license or ability to attain one in the first 8 weeks of employment
• Ability to think critically and strategically to creatively solve problems
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to prioritize tasks
• Reliable, self-motivated and friendly
• Must be able to pass a criminal background check

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

• Must be able to lift, push and pull up to 50 pounds in weight
• Typing, writing, reading, frequent sitting, standing, walking, kneeling
• Seeing, hearing and speaking, both nearby and at a distance

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

$23/hour

Bonuses available, depending on performance of the company

Swimming Simply was started by a passionate swimmer and mother in the Denver area who noticed a gap in swim offerings. While there were plenty of opportunities in her area for young children to learn to swim and a few very competitive swim teams for school-age children there was very little offered for kids who can swim but need support with stroke development and an opportunity to learn to love the water. In addition, there was next to nothing available for adults learning to swim or looking for year round swim exercise programs. Swimming Simply was born to help fill these gaps and offer programming for children and adults who were ready to take their swimming abilities to the next level.
