Job Title : Store Cashier

Summary :
The cashier is responsible for the collection of payment for gas, tobacco, liquor and general purchases from our customers.
This position will receive and disburse money, operate electronic scanners, cash registers, or related equipment. Process credit or debit card transactions.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities of the Store Cashier :
- Accurately and efficiently conduct sales for the convenience store according to established policies and procedures.
- Collect payment, dispense change, and provide customers with purchase receipts.
- Maintain the security of all funds in register at all times, including making timely cash drops to maintain the cash drawer below the maximum level of funds.
- Verify age of customers if they are purchasing alcohol or tobacco products.
- Activate fuel pumps for tribal members and house accounts.
- Maintain an appropriate level of stock and merchandise at all times in the register work area; including, but not limited to, tobacco products, liquor minis, and drink station items.
- Maintain a clean and neat appearance to the register work area and drink station.
- Assist with additional duties as needed, including, but not limited to, stocking, cleaning, filling propane containers, and gas spill cleanup.
- Assist disabled customers with fueling system needs.
- Dispense lottery ticket winnings.
- Assist Deli Clerk with deli food preparation and cleanup if needed.
- Alert supervisor of any broken of damaged items in and around gas station.
- Alert supervisor of any suspicious activity in and around gas station.
- Proficiently and safely operate propane fuel dispenser.
- All other duties as assigned by the Shift Supervisor and Store Manager.
Education and Experience :
- Must be 18 years of age.
- High School Diploma or GED preferred.
- Must possess a Washington State Food Handler's Permit.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities :
- Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services.
- Basic mathematical ability; e.g., ability to make change.
- Patience, tact, and good problem-solving ability.
- Good communication skills.
- Ability to stand for long periods of time.
- Ability to sustain long periods of repetitious movement.
- Willingness to accept part-time work; work on weekends, holidays, and evenings.
- Must pass criminal background check and oral drug screen.
