Our law firm is seeking an experienced family attorney who can assist our clients in navigating the sensitive legal issues of family law, including divorce, child custody, child abuse, and domestic violence. the ideal candidate should have at least 3 years of experience handling family law cases. We are looking for someone who is able to effectively manage a caseload, interact directly with clients and other attorneys. The person should have a strong knowledge of family law statutes and cases and is able to function effectively in highly stressful and emotional situations. - Assist clients effectively by understanding their needs analyzing the situation then strategizing and deciding on a proper course of action
- Collaborate with senior partners and paralegals to effectively move files through the civil litigation process
- Attend court proceedings as needed to represent clients
- Organize and maintain client files to ensure they are kept current
- Draft and prepare legal motions and memorandums
- Attend depositions
- Meet with clients to strategize about their case
- Great negotiation and communication skills, particularly in stressful and emotional situations
- 4-year degree with a legal background and J.D. degree are necessary for this position
- Licensed to practice law in the State of Maryland
- At least 3 years of family law experience
- At least 3 years of trial experience
- Knowledge of legal statues and case law relevant to family law matters
