In operation since 1971, the Ticonderoga Mill produces high end printing and technical papers harvested from Adirondack and Vermont forests. With over 600 dedicated employees focused on safety, environment, quality and production, we operate and monitor various pulping and papermaking processes and systems.
This is a hands-on leadership position responsible for providing maintenance support for the Pulp Mill Business Unit. The successful candidate will provide leadership to foster an injury free environment, drive out repetitive maintenance problems, improve maintenance efficiency, reduce maintenance cost, and improve equipment reliability. The position reports to the Mill Maintenance & Engineering Manager.
Responsibilities
Be a role model and champion for an injury-free work place and promote safety and excellence in all areas of influence.
Direct management of two salaried First Line Leaders as well as responsibility for their development.
Manage maintenance organization for the Pulp business unit to maximize effectiveness and minimize cost.
Work closely with operations leadership to understand their needs and to maintain a cohesive single team of operations and maintenance.
Provide leadership in proactive maintenance practices and drive reliability improvements.
Lead area outage planning and budgeting while ensuring safe execution of plans.
Responsible for preparing, monitoring and managing the area maintenance budget.
Manage maintenance and repair contractors for Pulp business unit.
Responsible for managing checkbook for Pulp business unit expenses.
Champions Reliability and MWS work systems for the Pulp business unit.
Strive for sustained continuous improvements throughout scope of responsibility.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent work experience in a manufacturing environment.
Minimum three (3) years leadership experience in a manufacturing environment Experience in the pulp and paper industry is preferred.
Experience leading troubleshooting and maintenance activities in a manufacturing environment.
Detailed knowledge of industrial safety procedures and regulations.
Knowledge and experience in maintenance best practices.
Ability to track and measure performance utilizing standard methods/tools.
Ability to lead in a high-performance team environment and get work done through others.
Ability to collaborate with peers and work well work others.
Strong computer skills including SAP and all Microsoft Office applications.
The base compensation range for this position is $104,800.00 to $174,600.00 per year. Your actual base salary will be determined based upon a number of factors which may include relevant experience, skills, location (labor market data), credentials (education, certifications), and internal equity.
