Process Specialist

Job Summary: Under minimal supervision Modifies/cuts LCD glass which is incorporated into cockpits and simulator displays screens by interpreting mechanical drawings to determine size, and shape of the glass to be cut, using precision saw blades and scribe wheels. Creates and revise operation sheets and standard processes.

Duties and Responsibilities

Reads work orders to determine product specifications before cutting.

Develop and refine glass LCD re-sizing.

Evaluates, tests and repairs LCDs.

Must set-up and utilize precision saw blades and scribe wheels to re-size LCD glass.

Ability to visually inspect glass for defects before and after cutting.

Will interpret mechanical drawings to modify LCD glass and polarizers dimensionally.

Will assist tech associates per manufacturing operations and work instructions on equipment or material issues and/or problems.

Keeps equipment operational by coordinating maintenance and repair services; following manufacturer’s instructions and established procedures; requesting special service.

Maintains cleanliness of all cleanroom surfaces and floor.

Provides training in glass cutting to technicians as a back-up and guides progress as needed.

Will create and revise operation sheets, work instructions and standard processes.

May test and/or research the processes to improve quality and ensure accuracy.

Applies process, operational, compliance knowledge plus analytical and troubleshooting skills to support manufacturing operations.

Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

Other duties as assigned.

Skill/Qualifications:

High School

College preferred.

Four years of related experience preferred.

Requires a working knowledge of assorted manufacturing processes, materials, operations, tools and equipment.

Strong technical writing skills.

MS Office computer skills.

Knowledge of (SDI) manufacturing processes, materials, operations, and machines.

Analytical tools – ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule format.

Ability to be flexible and manage change.

Ability to communicate and collaborate with technical and management staff.

Works under minimal supervision.

Hands-on problem-solving skills.

Must have authorization to work in the United States.

English must speak/read/write.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $24.45 - $25.57 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
