POSITION SUMMARY
The Senior DevOps Engineer will own and be responsible for architecting and implementing scalable solutions that be responsible for setting up, maintaining, and overseeing the development infrastructure and tools here at Symbria. This position will work closely with the internal development team to automate testing and deployment of products. Functioning in the background to ensure all releases go smoothly.
Responsibilities
FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Continuous delivery and operations of cloud computing infrastructure for multiple agile teams delivering custom-built software.
- Centralized operations for efficient management and control for all cloud services and applications with standardized architectures and frameworks.
- Maintain data and cloud governance policies, protocols, and processes.
- Empower the product teams to stay focused only on the product development.
- Service Oriented Architecture and mindset, keep the platform composable.
- Contribute to a collaborative environment that increases visibility, reduces uncertainty and improves error detection and remediation.
- Promote good processes and automation across teams.
- Guide development teams in designing, building, testing, and deploying changes to existing software.
- Design, deploy, and maintain the company’s cloud infrastructure and services using Terraform defining the entire cloud footprint as code, IaC.
- Deploying, monitoring, managing, and scaling Kubernetes clusters to maintain 99.95 operational uptime.
- Enhance the cloud infrastructure security for the services and application of the company.
- Identify manual processes that can be automated.
- Identify operational and scalability issues and develop proactive solutions to address them.
- Working with software engineers and developers to implement established processes for development, continuous releases, testing, and patching.
- Project planning with key stakeholders in both operations and engineering.
Qualifications
EDUCATION AND OTHER QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED
To perform this job successfully, the ability to perform each essential duty satisfactorily is necessary and the qualifications listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or other closely related technical field of study.
- Experience working as a DevOps Engineer on either of the following public clouds: AWS, Azure, GCP, minimum 5 years.
- Experience in deploying and administering Continuous Integration / Continuous Deployment tools such as Jenkins, TFS, GitHub Actions, TeamCity, etc., minimum 5 years.
- Experience using Git, GitHub, or GitLab for version control and experience with GitFlow and GitHub flow development processes, minimum 3 years.
- Experience in deploying, updating, and managing containerized applications, minimum 3 years.
- Experience deploying, monitoring, and scaling Kubernetes deployments for high demand critical business operations, minimum 3 years.
- Experience deploying, maintaining, and scaling multiple cloud-based infrastructures with Terraform, minimum 3 years.
- Proficiency in cross-platform scripting languages and build tools: Bash, Python, ANT, Groovy, Maven, etc.
