What we are looking for:
Food service professionals who:
- Manage and ensure the preparation and delivery of food to the residents and guests that is both safe and appetizing, while providing for their nutritional needs.
- Demonstrable skills in menu development for restaurant and regular operations.
- Possess a pleasant personality and demeanor.
- He/she must demonstrate a desire to work with convalescent, geriatric, or light psychiatric residents (as required), while always maintaining a neat and well-groomed appearance.
- Trustworthiness, loyalty, fairness, honesty, and reliability must be his/her best assets.
As a Head Chef some of your responsibilities would consist of but not limited to:
- Make daily (pleasant) contacts with residents and guests.
- Participate in scheduled management meetings.
- Monitor the preparation and timely service of meals.
- Develop work procedures and schedules.
- Develop and maintain standards for food purchasing and preparation.
- Ensure the highest level of guest satisfaction in restaurant operations by providing an inviting atmosphere, hospitable service, and quality products.
- Coordinate food services role in special events and Activity programs.
- Keep team members informed of work requirements.
- Let team members know where they stand.
- Become familiar with company resources, services, and personnel available to you.
- Help team members improve and broaden their skills.
- Compliment team members for a job well done.
- Provide the opportunity for group and individual participation for solving operational problems.
- Treat all members of the group as equals.
- Delegate responsibilities and encourage the acceptance of such responsibilities by all members of the work team.
- Understand each team member’s job and clarify the importance of each job in relation to the group.
- Appreciate and attempt to solve and eliminate team member’s problems, no matter how small.
- Always be polite and cooperative.

Employment Requirements:
- Must be able to work flexible schedule including rotating weekends.
- Must be able to read written instructions and record usage.
- Must possess a strong “service” orientation, specifically with geriatric residents.
Education / Experience:
- High School / GED
- At least three (3) years’ experience in restaurant or food service management.
