Job Summary
An established foreign food manufacturer has expanded its business to the United States and is currently looking for an experienced Sanitation Supervisor to join our Production team in Los Angeles, California. The Sanitation Supervisor will report to the Operational Manager. The incumbent will oversee daily activities of the sanitation team to ensure the swabbing program and integrated pest management program are performed up to USDA FSIS guidelines.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Facilitate QA manager to develop good manufacturing practices (GMPs) from the perspective of sanitation. Monitor that GMPs are followed in relating to cleanliness, sanitation and pests
- Assist with integrated pest management (IPM) program to ensure the facility is free of pests for food manufacturing
- Perform pre-operational sanitation inspections and walk through the facility with USDA inspector
- Escalate sanitation related issues with QA manager when cross functional communication is required
- Perform regular inventories of sanitation chemicals and non-chemical supplies of necessary operation in compliance with OSHA, USDA, and FDA regulations.
- Document and control sanitation related documents and records in a proper manner
- Educate team members on sanitation standard operating procedures (SSOPs) and ensure that SSOPs requirements are well maintained
- Create sanitation workload and schedule adequate staffing to ensure sanitation operations are completed on a timely basis
- Support sanitation functions in the office area
- Perform other duties assigned
Qualifications and Skills
- High school Diploma and Associate’s degree in food science, microbiology, chemistry, or a related field
- 3 to 5 years in the sanitation role, minimum 1-2 years proven track record of leadership in food manufacturing industry
- Must be familiar with USDA, FDA, and other food manufacturing related laws and regulations if applicable.
- Ability to work flexible schedule depending the operational needs
- Must be a team player with excellent people and organizational skills
- Excellent communications skills along with computer literacy including MS suite, Google Apps, and other professional software
- Must be able to motivate, coach, train, reward, and recognize employees
- Bilingual in Spanish highyly prefered
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $26.28 - $30.59 per hour
