Our challenge

We are currently seeking an experienced Java Developer to join our dynamic technology team working on a critical regulatory project within the investment banking sector. The successful candidate will possess strong technical skills in Java, a deep understanding of object-oriented design, and experience with the frameworks and technologies essential for modern, compliant financial applications.

Additional Information*

The base salary for this position will vary based on geography and other factors. In accordance with law, the base salary for this role if filled within Dallas, TX, Salt Lake City, UT is $112k - $117k/year & benefits (see below).

The Role

Responsibilities :

• Design, develop, and maintain Java applications critical to the regulatory functions of investment banking.
• Ensure the delivery of highly reliable, scalable, and performant code that complies with stringent regulatory standards.
• Utilize Java frameworks such as DropWizard, Spring, and Hibernate to build robust backend services.
• Work with web development frameworks (Angular or React) to create intuitive and compliant user interfaces.
• Integrate with distributed storage systems (DB2, Oracle, Cassandra, MongoDB) ensuring data consistency and scalability.
• Employ CI/CD pipelines using Git to streamline development and deployment processes.
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to implement features that adhere to regulatory requirements.
• Maintain and improve the performance of existing software, ensuring all systems are up to regulatory standards.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to peers and junior developers.
• Stay abreast of the latest technology trends and best practices in the investment banking regulatory space.

Requirements:

You are:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Proven track record of Java development, with a solid grasp of object-oriented design principles.
• Demonstrable experience with Java frameworks such as DropWizard, Spring, and Hibernate.
• Experience with front-end development frameworks like AngularJS or ReactJS is highly desirable.
• Strong understanding of distributed storage systems including DB2, Oracle, Cassandra, and MongoDB.
• Experience with Git and familiarity with CI/CD practices.
• Working knowledge of Unix/Linux environments is essential.
• Familiarity with the investment banking domain, particularly with regulatory projects, is a plus.
