Hiring Opportunity: Columbus, Ohio Our client is looking for a candidate to fill their opening as for a Field Glazier. This individual will work in the field on-site erecting unitized and stick system curtainwall, panels, storefronts, and strip windows by anchoring frames plumb, level, and square to building structure
Experience Needed: -Knowledge and experience of fabricating and installing curtainwall, storefront, brake metal, ACM panels, doors, and glass rail-Experience with power tools-Basic carpentry skills-Experience with caulking/ sealant applicationsResponsibilities: -Ability to read tape measure accurately-Can perform basic Fraction and Decimal changes-Prepares sill pans and frames for glass-Understands terms and part descriptions-Applies caulking and other adhesives properly-Understands sealants and compatibility issues-Install anchors and panels correctly-Sets frames, glass, and units correctly-Ensures curtainwall is plum, level, and square-Has knowledge of all curtainwall systems-Understands different vendor systems and parts-Understands sequence of work and concerns for delay-Ability to layout and install storefronts, stick and unitized curtainwall, panels, canopies, handrails, doors, and operable windows-Installs break metal and flashing properly-Installs mirrors as appropriate-Ability to read and interpret Shop drawing and architectural drawingsExtended Responsibilities: -Can identify errors on drawings-Ability to install units per our client's Quality Control standards-Stops work to address quality issues-Produces a final product that is accurate and complete-Has the ability to correct errors-Accurately checks and ensures units are properly installed-Understand the importance of building frames 'in sequence'-Helps load and unload fabricated units and other materials onto or from company vehiclesWhat our client needs from candidates: -Follows company protocols and procedures-Is willing to work overtime-Attends and participates in department meetings, safety meetings and training sessionsTraining: -OSHA 10-Hour Construction -Silica Training -Fall Protection-Hazard Communication -Material Handling Training -Proper Lifting Technique -PPE -Hand and Power Tools -Emergency Action Plan and Accident Reporting -Drug Free Workplace Employee EducationAbilities: -Comfort level with heights-The ability to work outside, sometimes in extreme seasonal conditions such as heat and cold, direct sun, blowing winds, precipitation, etc.-Provide high quality work
