Pharmaceutical Buyer

6. Establishes, maintains, and adheres to purchasing practices and policies to ensure honest, fair, and ethical relationships with vendors.
7. Prepares and expedites purchase orders for contracting of MRO, supplies, miscellaneous items, capital equipment, and specific inventory items as well as all services for the operation
8. Confers with vendors to obtain product or service information such as price, availability, and delivery schedule and populates information into SAP POs for visibility.
9. Maintains proper contact with suppliers relating to releases and deliveries.
10. Prepares purchase orders for bid requests and reviews requisitions.
11. Confers with requesting parties when specific sources are requested.
12. Interfaces with all departments and resolves issues with needed purchase items.
13. Investigates and solves problems resulting from material shortages however caused.
14. Resolves issues with vendor payments, returns, and credit issues as well as any customs issues with overseas suppliers.
15. Partners with legal as required on review of contracts, quotations, and terms & conditions.
16. Continues programs of exploration for new suppliers and processes to achieve the best possible quality, reliability, prices, continuity, and delivery, and monitors cost savings.
17. Serves as backup to Purchasing Specialist and is able to handle additional projects and assignments as required, including the proper filing of purchase orders.
18. Provides SAP training for online requisitioning as required.

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:
- Associate"s degree
- Minimum 3-4 years" experience purchasing or related fields
- Basic mathematical skills
- Excellent team player, strong communication skills
- Proficient in SAP, Excel, PowerPoint, Word
- Strong analytical background
- Proven track record of adapting to evolving business needs
- Three years working with Enterprise Information Systems (SAP)
