At Syngenta, we are working to build the most collaborative and trusted team in agriculture that provides leading seeds innovations to enhance the prosperity of farmers. Our Seeds Agronomy team is currently seeking an Agronomist for NK Seeds in South- Central Illinois. As the Agronomist, you will implement the NK seed strategy in your territory and provide intense local knowledge and agronomic expertise to address complex agricultural challenges.
You will enhance the prosperity of farmers by:
- Being the product and technology expert for both corn and soybean seed, for Syngenta and competitive products
- Leading the product training process for employees and customers of NK
- Providing localized and targeted product, technology and agronomic information and advice to the District Manager, Sales Representatives, Channel Partners, customers, and prospects
Accountabilities
- Evaluate experimental trials to aid in training the sales force on new product launches
- Provide marketing input into product advancements
- Provide input on production planning and portfolio
- Sharpen competitive intelligence on pricing and products
- Support product-based campaign development in the district
- Promote Syngenta products at meetings, field days, and one on ones
- Support and coordinate plot locations and entries in the assigned area
- Analyze and interpret data for promotional use and act as the pivot point for Syngenta story amplification in local areas
Requirements
- B.S. in Agronomy or related Agricultural field
- 2 years of experience in Agronomy or Sales with a strong technical background or 2 years of experience in a Research and Development role, with a strong understanding of Sales and Commercial aspects
- Deep knowledge of the seed industry
- Visa sponsorship is not available for this position
- Territory includes: I will add this after my RSM.
Preferred Requirements
- Basic understanding of marketing principles and techniques
- Understanding of statistical principles and data analysis
- Significant technical knowledge of product portfolio, product pipeline and product value propositions.
- Agronomic theory – knowledge of farming best practices, seed technologies, crop protection
- Understanding of segmentation strategy and priorities
- Demonstrated experience in guidance and direct involvement in service call resolution
