The Director, PMO position is a SYNTAX customer-facing senior-level project management director position. The Director leads Project Managers responsible for leading and managing multiple customer transition projects of various sizes, scopes, and complexities for both private and public cloud services. These transition projects include hosting services for Oracle, SAP and Microsoft products. You will have full responsibility for planning and delivery of customer migrations to the cloud as well as other large-scale projects and continuous project delivery for our largest customers. The Director should also help evolve our PMO relationship with sales to enhance data capture and proper planning to incorporate into our customer agreements. The Director will also drive our continuous improvement in time to value, revenue capture, and PMO metrics and reporting.

The ideal Director, PMO should have the following qualities:
  • Experience leading transition projects into private and public could services; specifically, Oracle, SAP or Microsoft technical/infrastructure projects
  • Experience as a leader of Project Managers
  • Strong architecture skills including a strong understanding of networking
  • Experience with ServiceNow & workflow processes
  • Self-motivated and disciplined, entrepreneurial spirit

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Manage multiple streams/teams to achieve customer requirements
  • Lead public and private cloud hosting services installation, migration and upgrade projects for external customers (working with internal and external teams to ensure contract is fulfilled on time and per customer requirements)
    • Private cloud will include onsite cloud hosting services at SYNTAX
    • Public cloud will include, but Is not limited to, Azure and Amazon Web Services
    • Responsible for all phases of the project (kickoff to go-live)
    • Responsible for interpretation of customer contracts into deliverables for internal teams
    • Lead project role for internal teams and customer throughout lifecycle of project
  • Work with customer and SYNTAX stakeholders to create and manage Projects plans
  • Host regular project meetings and distribute meeting minutes
  • Must be able to manage multiple concurrent projects of various project phases
  • Escalation management

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or related field
  • Minimum 15 years in IT industry
  • AWS and/or Azure certification at an Associate level or higher
  • Minimum of four (4) years’ experience leading transition projects of various size/scope
  • In-depth experience in transitions and migrations in ERP (customer services provider space)
  • Private & Public Cloud Hosting knowledge and experience required
  • Oracle / SAP / Microsoft product knowledge required; technical basis experience preferred
  • Must be able to manage multiple global teams of varying size/scope/complexity
  • Excellent proven leadership, organizational, presentation, and communication skills
  • Must interact well with all levels of Syntax operations, management, and executive teams
  • PMP certification preferred, PM training required
  • Excellent meeting facilitation skills, including via teleconference and web conference
  • Advanced Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) & Intermediate Microsoft Project experience required
  • Fluent English language skills required; Intermediate Spanish language skills a plus
  • Some travel may be required to on-site customer locations
