Job Description

SUMMARY:

  • Work from electrical schematics and engineering direction to build and wire electrical control panels and perform machine wiring on pharmaceutical packaging equipment. Occasionally install equipment at customer locations.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Installs, assembles, and wires control panels, operator consoles and remote devices on manufactured machines following established conventions and national electric codes.
  • Perform machine wiring which includes kneeling, crawling, working in tight spaces.
  • Works from schematics, wiring diagrams and direction from engineers.
  • Tests, debugs and troubleshoot electrical systems after completion of wiring.
  • Looks for and implements innovations and improvements in materials, tools, and testing equipment.
  • Provides direction to contract assembly personnel.
  • Work with mechanical drawings and computer models to properly wire packaging equipment.
  • Independently plans work/assembly procedures and functions with minimal supervision.
  • Communicates assembly and wiring problems to engineering.
  • Occasional travel with or without notice may be required for installation, service, and validation at customer sites.
  • Actively participate in efforts for Continuous Improvement of processes.
  • Maintain electrical floor-stock inventory.
  • Understand and follow UL508A and NFPA79 standards.
  • Perform and assist in validation tasks including electrical safety lead.
  • Participate in engineering design reviews.
  • Maintain and communicate electrical department’s processes and standards.
  • Willing to cross train as needed.
  • Ability to work on your feet all day.
  • Help with daily tasks in assembly department as needed.

Qualifications

Education and Experience

  • 2 year vocation degree required in electrical/electronics field.
  • 3-5 years’ experience in electrical assembling with a variety of tools preferably in a packaging or related industry.

 

Skills and Knowledge

  • Strong electrical aptitude
  • Strong knowledge of AC/DC electrical principles
  • Mechanically incline
  • Proficient with hand and power tools
  • Must be able to read and understand electrical schematics
  • Basic computer knowledge
  • Working knowledge of PLC’s and controls
  • Strong interpersonal and team skills
  • Effective communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work productively and independently
  • Own tools
  • Willing and able to travel up to 20%; some international travel may be required

Additional Information

The expected compensation range for this position is between $33,700 – 88,382 based on a full-time schedule.

Compensation for roles at Syntegon varies depending on a wide array of non-discriminatory factors including but not limited to the specific office location, role, degree/credentials, relevant skill set, and level of relevant experience. At Syntegon compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. Total rewards at Syntegon include salary bonus (if applicable) benefits.
