What are the responsibilities and job description for the Quality Technician / Inspector position at SYNTEGON?
Syntegon Technology specializes in the pharmaceutical industry. Complete packaging solutions are provided for parenteral drugs, ophthalmics, animal health products, vitamins, and nutritional supplements. Products include vial, capsule, syringe, and powder filling; isolation technology, and cartoning.
SUMMARY: Assists in managing the quality control department in meeting quality and on-time-delivery (OTD) goals, ensures customer concerns/complaints are addressed, and monitors implementation of corrective actions (leading when necessary).
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Inspects Syntegon machined parts and supplier made parts for conformance to blue print/drawing specification & procedural requirements (parts are mostly stainless steel and plastic).
- Reviews certs for conformance and manages cert database including scanning, naming, rotating pages, etc. in an organized manor.
- Responsible for managing the tool calibration system including creating purchase requisitions, communicating with the vendor, gathering equipment, and performing calibration for gages and test equipment.
- Performs data entry via excel, access, SAP, Gagetrak, etc.
- Leads & participates in non-conformance meetings with other departments (Engineering, Purchasing, Machine Shop, etc.).
- Involved in ISO 9001 as an internal auditor.
- Understands and follows procedures and work instructions.
- Conducts investigations and analysis to address customer's concerns/complaints.
- Initiates and verifies corrective actions, resolve problems, and ensure that problems are not repeated.
- Actively participate in efforts for Continual Improvement of processes.
BASIC REQUIREMENTS:
- Must possess a High School diploma or GED
- Must have a minimum of vocational training in manufacturing/machining with 3 plus years of machine shop practice and/or inspection
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Assembly inspection and internal auditor experience is a plus.
- Demonstrated knowledge of general machining practices, geometric dimensioning and tolerances. (GD&T), English system, and metric system.
- Proven mechanical inspection and gage calibration ability.
- Ability to accurately interpret first and third angle projection parts drawings.
- Ability to run a coordinate measurement machine (CMM) & shadowgraph.
- Ability to work with Engineering and gain an understanding of the function of our parts.
- Strong PC skills with familiarity of word, database and spreadsheet software packages.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Organized, self-motivated, and reliable.
- Willingness to learn and work as part of a team.
