Description
Assists the operating room team by preparing and handling supplies and equipment to maintain a safe and therapeutic environment through a system of specific techniques and practices designed to ensure a sterile environment. Ensures operating room suite and procedural room is adequately prepared for procedures. Performs sterile processing department functions including cleaning, disinfecting and sterilizing surgical instruments. Assists Specialty Clinic providers with patient management when needed.
This position is full-time, weekdays, 36 -40 hours per week, 8-10 hours shifts. SAH offers a competitive benefit and compensation package.
Qualifications
- Graduate of accredited OR Scrub Technologist program
- Minimum one year experience as a scrub technologist preferred
- Knowledge of aseptic and sterile techniques
- Prior orientation to surgical procedures and familiarity with the identification and use of surgical instruments and operating room equipment preferred
- Sterile processing experience preferred
- Basic computer skills (eg., Microsoft Word)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- National Certification as a Certified Surgical Technologist from The National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) preferred
