Not ApplicableJob DescriptionThis position will ensure the completeness of high volume accounts payable transactions, by reviewing submissions prior to and after processing occurs and facilitates all required documentation.

QualificationsHigh school diploma.Job Specific QualificationsNot ApplicableResponsibilitiesReview, prioritize and batch items to be processed for payment into payment groups, then assign group numbers in PeopleSoft.

Direct and communicate with Processors to enter processing as assigned and verify their work for accuracy. This is a continual process throughout the day and is extremely important at the end of the Fiscal and Calendar years due to the importance of recording expenses in the proper Accounting Period.

Answer all incoming calls and disburse@syr.edu email inquiries, assist when able or direct calls / emails to the appropriate Department or individual.

This also applies to persons who occasionally physically arrive at Disbursements Office for assistance. Oversee incoming mail function : Direct temporary employees to Open, sort and distribute mail received form the Courier.

Data Entry : Timely and accurate entry of various payment requisitions into PeopleSoft such as Travel Vouchers, Employee Expense Vouchers and vendor invoices both non-PO and PO.

Ensure vendor name, address and amount entered into system agrees with supporting documentation. Enter payment handling codes, review for duplicate invoice numbers, enter PO invoices and work with Accounts Payable Manager or Reconcilers if a problem with the PO exists.

Contact departments if problems exist.Balance and adjust each group processed within the day and verify entire departments data entry for the day to ensure evening payment runs are accurate.

Balance previous days batches making sure they are all properly posted to the General Ledger successfully and accurately.Physical Requirements
