Job Description
Performs duties to ensure institutional compliance with department, institutional, state, federal, NCAA and ACC guidelines. Assists the Associate Athletics Director for Compliance with the overall operations of athletics compliance including compliance-related projects and other administrative duties as assigned by the Associate Athletics Director for Compliance.

Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to: coordination of day-to-day compliance activities; serve as liaison with multiple offices on campus; athletics, registrar, financial aid, housing, admissions; provide legislative and interpretive guidelines for institution; oversight of specific compliance components as noted below.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree/Juris Doctor preferred.
  • Two (2) plus years of full-time experience applying Division I NCAA rules and regulations at a Division I institution.

Job Specific Qualifications
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills combined with the ability to interact with diverse groups is required.
  • Strong knowledge of LSDBi and recruiting software.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and Adobe Illustrator.
  • Willing to work evening and weekend hours.

Responsibilities
  • Develops comprehensive NCAA rules education program.
  • Prepares NCAA rules education documents for monthly Coaching Staff /Compliance Meetings.
  • Prepares NCAA rules education materials for Student-Athletes, Athletics Department Staff, constituency groups, and others.
  • Delivers rules education at various times throughout the year.
  • Primary Sport Contact for several of the institution’s athletics programs. Responsibilities include:
    • Provides NCAA rules interpretations.
    • Delivers NCAA rules education to coaches.
    • Performs Initial Eligibility Assessments of prospective student-athletes.
    • Processes Official and Unofficial Visits.
    • Monitors Outside Competition.
    • Writes violation self-reports and waivers of NCAA rules as necessary.
    • Meets with new Athletics Department staff to provide NCAA rules education.
    • Oversees and monitors annual awards and benefits provided to student-athletes.
  • Monitors potential and proposed changes to NCAA legislation.
  • Facilitates the production and approval of Playing and Practice Season Declarations and Declarations of Coaching Staff.
  • Assists with compliance-related projects and perform other administrative duties as assigned by the Associate Athletics Director for Compliance.
