Senior IT Project Manager:
*6-month contract with possible extension

Position Overview:
Information Systems & Technology is looking for a Project Manager to manage the creation and renewal process for large and complex IT contracts. This Project Manager will oversee the entire process of initiation, planning, reporting, negotiations & closure of IT contracts. The Project manager should have a proven background with vendor management and negotiations and also managing IT projects.
Essential Functions:
- Creates and maintains the project plan
- Develops, and continually updates, project plans, schedules and other relevant project management artifacts such as status reports, business requirements documentation, and risk mitigation plans.
- Facilitates the gathering of information required for the level of effort analysis to estimate project cost, resources, time and deliverables.
- Develops budget requests for resources
- Describe technical or other issues that need to be considered and assist in the development of SOW’s.
- Ensures that all project team members have the tools and training required to perform effectively.
- Has good judgment regarding which creative ideas and suggestions can improve the service.
- Prepares status reports to convey project scope, goals, milestones, budget, risk, status, change requests, and critical issues to the client and project team.
- Uses past experiences to identify potential areas of improvement.
- Performs business analysis functions as required.
- Creates and implements recommendations.
Qualifications & Technical Skills:
- Typically 5-7 years of IT Project Management experience
- Project Management certification or successful completion of a recognized project management curriculum is desired.
- Technical management experience in a high-technology environment.
- Strong relationship management skills.
- Manages improvement processes that impact customer satisfaction and relationships.
- Strong oral, written and presentation skills.
- Working in procurement and with contracts preferred.
