Sysdig is looking for a Staff Software Engineer to work on our Container Security & Intelligence Platform. You will play a key role in designing and building cutting-edge products and driving customer success through high-quality R&D level support when necessary, resulting in hundreds of happy enterprise customers and disrupting the monitoring and security space in the containers world.

As a senior member of the technical team, you’ll work closely with our product teams to understand requirements for new features and products in our Secure Agent software, design solutions in collaboration with adjacent engineering teams, and engage with our support team to enhance customer experience.

What you will do

  • Deliver end-to-end solutions by collaborating with cross-functional teams
  • Provide technical expertise and architectural guidance to the team
  • Participate in architectural discussions and code reviews
  • Build high quality software that can perform at cloud scale
  • Understand complex software components, write code and use industry standard practices to continuously improve quality and capability.
  • Work in tandem with the Open Source Software community to solve complex problems

What you will bring with you

  • Strong Linux and Operating System fundamentals
  • Substantial experience writing code in C/C or similar general-purpose programming language
  • Experience working on Linux kernel, kernel modules and eBPF programs
  • Experience working with multithreaded applications with intuitive understanding of data primitives and thread synchronization
  • Experience triaging complex bugs and intuition for debugging common problems in system software like memory leaks, performance bottlenecks, deadlocks etc 
  • Experience with test driven development and good understanding of common CI/CD processes
  • Passion for building and delivering robust products
  • Results oriented and with a strong customer focus
  • Effective communication skills

What we look for

  • Familiarity with Linux security principles/technology space
  • Understanding of Falco (https://falco.org/)
  • Experience working on Linux kernel, kernel modules and eBPF programs
  • Knowledge of Linux File, User & Process model, Terminals, Network stack etc.
  • Understanding of security implications of operating system events/actions/operations, inner workings of general infiltration techniques and patterns.
  • Experience working with technologies like containers (docker), Kubernetes
  • Experience working on cloud ecosystems like GCP, AWS, Azure etc.
