About the Job
We are looking for an IT professional who will join a team that is responsible for maintaining critical information systems, servers, assets, and network infrastructure. Technology at Systel is constantly developing to meet our customers’ needs, so a successful candidate will also be involved with research, innovation, and implementation of IT systems and processes such as disaster recovery, network monitoring, network segmentation, and high availability.

The Work
- Own IT support ticket handling to ensure industry best practices are used across the team
- Define and maintain all IT support related policies and procedures
- Respond to and resolve support requests from users within defined SLAs
- Training or directing users on the correct use of software and hardware
- Keep up with the latest industry trends and technology by participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, and participating in professional organizations
- Use analytics and metrics to proactively monitor severs, applications, and networks
- Investigate and resolve problems when alerted by a user or monitoring system
- Upgrade business applications & apply OS patches on a regular basis with minimal impact on users
- Perform system audits periodically to ensure performance and compliance with IT Policy
- Own projects, solutions, and key responsibilities within a larger business initiative
Preferred Qualifications
- Degree in Information Technology or related field
- Knowledge of ITSM and ITIL
Minimum Qualifications
- If not a degree, then must have IT certification or related coursework
- 1 year of experience in an IT or service-related position
- Experience supporting Microsoft Windows operating systems.
- General knowledge of networking concepts such as DNS, DHCP, firewalls, and switches
- Ability to evaluate the strengths & weaknesses of business solutions
- Be able to read and comprehend information in written technical instructions, manuals, and data
- Must have strong written and verbal communication skills
