Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform administration of purchase orders involving medium to high monetary expenditure or risk, engineered technical specifications, or supplementary commercial conditions.
- Obtain quotes from vendors and achieve cost savings through bidding, and negotiations.
- Review and analyze vendors bids.
- Communicate with suppliers and personnel to establish clear definition of requirements, and to assure performance to purchase order terms and conditions.
- Issue purchase orders and supplements in accordance with established policies and procedures.
- Maintain confidentiality of all data.
- Higher levels of this position require increasing degrees of responsibilities and duties.
Essential
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- Minimum of one (1) year of relevant supply chain experience (i.e. purchasing, expediting, warehousing, MRP/ERP system).
- Experience in Microsoft Excel.
- Understanding of raw materials, tools, and consumables.
- Diligence and attention to detail.
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills.
- Professional written and verbal communication skills.
- Higher levels of this position require increasing degrees of education, years of experience, and professional skills.
- Experience in Microsoft Dynamics 365 (Business Central).
- Ability to deal with ambiguity.
- Ability to objectively interpret and analyze data.
- Ability to function in a fast-paced environment.
- Position requires use of computer, telephones, and other office equipment, reading, writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, bending, climbing, listening, and hearing ability and visual acuity.
- Position occasionally requires ability to work in a manufacturing environment and boats from the beginning of production through the sea trails. This includes mobility to work in and around incomplete aluminum hull structures.
- Ability to lift packages, equipment, etc., up to 20 lbs.
- Occasional driving of motor vehicles.
